UC United is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization. We have been in Cookeville for more than 23 years helping soccer players improve on and off the field. Many of our players have succeeded at the high school, state, and college levels. Board members are elected by the membership to serve 2-year terms and are not paid. Being a non-profit allows all members to get involved and make this the best club they can. We are always looking for volunteers and community partners. If you wish to get involved, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
UC United Recreation Mini Camp- $50
Take this opportunity to see what it takes to get to the next level as we work on technical skills like juggling, dribbling, passing, and shooting. This camp is offered to those who have played or are interested in playing Recreational soccer.
July 13-14 6:00-8:00 PM Rec Level Ages 8-14
Commitment day is coming up on Monday, June 29. We look forward to all those ready to get playing this upcoming fall season. We will be set up at the complex for you to drop off all paperwork needed for the upcoming Fall season. Come by and receive a free Sponsorship T-Shirt and UC United Sticker.
Because of the Return to Play restrictions, we are not going to host an open field. If you have already signed and turned this in, then it becomes binding on this date. You are able to send this electronically to email@example.com.
Please know that the needed paperwork is:
Cardiac Arrest Form
Birth Certificate (if not already uploaded on the TN Affinity website)
COVID Release for Parks and Rec.
On June 29, we will have jersey order forms to turn in. We do ask that you pay for this up front. The cost is $125. You are able to add on certain items as well. All new players will need to purchase a uniform set as these are new uniforms from last year. The uniforms should be good through our next two fall seasons. You can find a link to the file on the right hand column.
Returning players have first dibs on their number. Please follow the guideline that players born in even years will use an even number and players born in odd years will use an odd number. For example, a player with a 2011, 2009, 2007, 2005 and 2003 birth year should choose 1, 3, 5, 7, etc. and a player born in 2012, 2010, 2008, 2006, 2004, and 2002 would choose 2, 4, 6, 8, etc. This allows us to not worry about duplicates if a player plays up on a team.
We are no longer going to purchase the A4 jerseys and are requiring them to switch to the Adidas. That being said, because they are similar, I am not requiring returning players to purchase a new one this season. If the A4 still fits they can wear that one more year but if you need to purchase a new one then it will be the Adidas jersey. New Academy players will need to purchase the Adidas set. If you just want to purchase the Adidas set then that is available as well. I would prefer unity but I also know a lot of people purchased uniforms last year and I do not want to put that financial constraint on anyone. If you are able then please do so. These uniforms will be good for at least the next two fall and spring seasons.
UC United Apparel
We will be giving out Sponsorship T-Shirts to anyone who shows up until we run out. We also have UC United stickers to hand out. Other than that, we will be cleaning out our storage and selling all items in stock at a discounted price. I will have a list of Adidas items for parents and players to purchase as well (I will not have anything in stock but will have the catalog so you can see what you are ordering).
Return To Play
As of now, it is unclear as to when practice will start. According to TN Soccer, insurance can only cover activities that fall underneath the Return to Play guidelines which DOES NOT include scrimmaging. We can have practice where players stay 6 feet apart but that is basically it. I am hoping this will change in the next week or two but if not, we will start with some voluntary preseason conditioning around early to mid-July. As we do for most seasons, mandatory practices will start around the week that school starts back.
Let me give you my definition of voluntary: If you are in town and have no prior plans then I expect you to be there. I realize it is summer and families have events and trips planned so if you are out of town or have a prior engagement then it is understood why you missed. Our goal is to get better as a player, as a team and as a club so commitment to your team is of high importance.
We are currently working with coaches and managers to schedule each parent meeting. It is very important that you attend as well as your player. Most of you have done this for a long time but the parent meeting is an opportunity for the coaches to state their expectations for the year so it is clear up front. There is a form of accountability that needs to be taken on everyone starting with the coach but also with the player and parent. This is also a great opportunity to meet some of the new players and families that are joining the team. A lot of people see us as a soccer club but I like to consider everyone in our club as a soccer family. We are the ones who will create that atmosphere and it is imperative that we welcome in all new families.
I look forward to a great Fall season. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. You can call or text me at 423-505-3999 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
